The first thing in designing a website is to start from the beginning. I won’t start with the beginning for me because that involved learning coding languages that aren’t applicable for the purposes of this guide. But when you’re considering website construction without complicated coding the first place to start is WordPress. WordPress makes website construction quick and easy. My first exposure to WordPress came through the use of website tutorials on Tyler.com
. The video below shows the introduction to constructing a WordPress site.
Just a few tips regarding WordPress and the above video. One of the issues when creating a WordPress website is finding a hosting service (the company that actually puts you’re site on the web and makes it visible) that integrates with WordPress. An easy solution is to register and host your domain name with Godaddy.com
and use their “Managed WordPress
” package. The video below walks you through this setup process.
Ok, so you have a domain name registered and hosted, what’s next. Well, you can use the free tools from Tyler.com
to build a solid professional website or you can progress to something a little more advanced. When I say advanced, I don’t mean more complicated. However, if you want better tools you have to pay for them. The video below shows you one of these tools called Divi
that is available from Elegant Themes.com
If you like what you saw in the above video, I suggest going to Elegant Themes.com and purchasing the Divi theme. This is the theme that was used to build my website. The Divi builder is very easy and intuitive. Packages like Divi are making coding a thing of the past for website construction.
